Tall back chair.....RED

I know I know I am really letting red get to my head, but I can't help it. I just love red. I got this kids tall back chair awhile back. While it was already painted very nicely I wasn't a fan, but I saw the potential. So here is how it has progressed.

Total cost $6

I used left over paint I already had!

little things

These two projects were simple. A small amount of sanding and some relaxing moments of painting. I think this little chair would be perfect for a "time out" chair or even as an accessory to a small child's table. The step stool is simple in and of itself. The thing I love about these two simple things is that now they can be embellished and decorated however their new owner wants them to be!
It think each of these pieces were priced at $1.99 and of course I bought them on 50% off Saturday so you do the math!

Bare Spot....

Do you ever look at a wall in your house and say "I really need to put something there. Its so bare". I have been saying that about the space over my stove for a long time. Well, I finally found a shelf the right size got it painted and put our Burtch Blocks. It looks great but I am still thinking it needs something else but I just cant figure it out!

Red is my favorite color

This project took me a few months...3 to be exact! IT took so long because I couldn't figure out exactly what I wanted to do with this piece. At first I figured I would stain it to match another table I have in my house. Then I had the brilliant idea to paint it red, the same red as I wall I painted in my dining room. Well, needless to say this is my favorite project so far. It turned out amazing and it looks fantastic in my house. I can't seem to find the before pic but trust me when I say it was hideous. Someone had painted it a dark purple and put like 5 layers of paint on it! I was very glad to give it a new home.

Total Cost:$5

First project ever

Besides painting an decorating this was my first ever project. I got these bar stools from a friend because we were getting a bar put in at our house. Well, I wanted them to match the decor just a little bit more so I recovered them. Let me just stay removing and re-stapling was a pretty big task. They do a pretty good job at the factory at making sure the fabric didn't come off!

Total cost:$12
Chairs- FREE
Fabric- $12(and a yard to spare)

BECAUSE.....

I decided to start this new blog to share with everyone my new hobby and how much fun I am having. A year ago I became a wife and I am loving every second of it. For some reason I feel as if that title has brought out a little bit of my creative side. I have found some new hobbies.... shopping at the thrift store being one of them. I love to get a great deal and I have recently found out how much I love turning someone else's trash into my treasure, particularly furniture! I enjoy making crafty personal projects for the people I love. So, here is my hobby enjoy! I am going to catch up on some projects that I have already completed just to get his blog going, but new ones to come soon. Leave comments and if you have any questions or need something done just give me a shout out!
